BRABANT ART FAIR IN TILBURG

Mijn expositie kun je vinden op de Brabant Art Fair, in de Koepelhal in de stad Tilburg op Zaterdag 18 Maart en Zondag 19 Maart van 11.00 tot 17.30 uur.

Ruim 100 geselecteerde kunstenaars tonen hun mooiste werken in een unieke sfeer en inspirerende omgeving. U kunt genieten van boeiende kunstwerken, van een glaasje wijn, een frisdrankje of een kopje koffie of thee en uiteraard ook van de passende entourage. In het weekend van 18 en 19 maart, van 11.00 tot 17.30 uur, is de Koepelhal in Tilburg even de grootste en mooiste galerie van Nederland.

ART EINDHOVEN Feb 4 + 5, 2023

Please, join me at ART EINDHOVEN, an art fair, on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th of February 2023 in the “Klokgebouw” in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
The “Klokgebouw” is the old Philips factory. The industrial and nostalgic surrounding gives ART EINDHOVEN the right atmosphere.
More than 130 selected, juried artists show their most beautiful works.
We also will announce the winner of the Painting of the Year and the National Ceramic Award.

LUSTRUM Expositie Nov 25, 26, 27, 2022

Yesterday evening, we had a great opening of our gallery “denieuwegalerie” from the “Amstelland Art Group”. There were many people even until closing time 10pm/22 hours at the Affordable Art Fair in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

This town Buren has a historical connection to the Dutch Royal House of Oranje-Nassau. So, when you come to have a look, you can visit this lovely town with its old city brick wall and still one city gate entrance. It has many little shops and galleries and you can easily walk every where, because it is a small town and restaurant “The Prince” has delicious coffee and cake!!!

Amstellanddag/Open studio on June the 12th!!!

I am ready with my art in the frontyard for the upcoming “Amstellanddag”. I participate with my SwanCeramics Art Gallery to show that art is an important expression influenced by living in this beautiful landscape and living along the river “The Amstel”. The gallery is open the whole day from 10am to 5pm.

It is Amstellanddag on June 12, 2022. This day is organized to show and enjoy the beautiful cultural and historical “Amstelland” with its farmhouses, nature, art en recreational enjoyment of this region. Very important is to show and discuss how to protect this special environment of the “Amstelland” surroundings.

Cultuurprijs voor Beeldende Kunst Ouder-Amstel/Culture price for Visual Arts

I participate in an exposition for nominee of the Culture Price of Ouder-Amstel.

The title of the exposition/competition is: Do you hear the music?

The first show is in the City Hall of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel from March 22 - April 16, 2022.

The second show is in the “Dorpshuis” of the city Duivendrecht from April 19 - May 20, 2022.

June 2021 Exhibition at the Amstelland Museum

Today, the exposition of some of my yellow-red and red Kamakura-Red works are shown in the Amstelland Museum in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel in the Netherlands.

Finally, the museum can open again and there is a groups exposition of Inge Wiedijk (Paintings and Photography), Jos Out sculptures and Swanica Ligtenberg ceramics.

New developed artworks year 2020

Last year February 2020, I participated in the “RISE 2020” ceramic residency in France organized and guided by Dr.Wendy Gers and Lauren Kearns: https://www.swanceramics.com/blog Look for March 22, 2020.
The research done during those weeks developed to the rediscovery of my love for colors and working with slips and free playful transformed forms.

I restricted myself to a vessel form with a long neck to challenge myself and still including my feature mark of burning Horsehair Raku. I called the vases: “Different views” because of the USA election time that year.

This evolved in “Emotion” Vases: bending the neck to the front or backward or around each other which resulted in beautiful expressions, even though there are no arms.

And all used with the new color slips engraving and sgrafitto technique.

Then I thought I could cut the vase and make legs and from one came the other expressed in certain dance positions: and my all old theme of “Life is a dance” what every body can still use now after so much confinement. So, “Let’s Dance”!!!!

Poem about my "Spread your Wings" by Peter Schotman

A new customer, Peter Schotman, who bought the big wing-set of the series of “Spread your Wings” , felt inspired by my works to write a poem about it (it is in Dutch) (He allowed me to put this poem and his name on my website). I feel very honored:

van verlangen vlieg ik

My “In-Motion” Horsehair Plate is accepted in the Clay Gallery “Klei Galerij” with topic “EAT/ETEN” in the Dutch “CLAY/KLEI” Magazine of the month 2020 November-December.

Yesterday, the exhibition opened for the 40th anniversary for the Dutch clay magazine “KLEI”. The title is: “Clay in motion”.
I am one of the 40 accepted artists.

As of yesterday you can see my work at a cultural center HUIS 73, Hinthamerstraat 74, 5211MR in the city
‘s Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. The center is open from October 1 - October 25, 2020 from 9am to 9pm (on Saturdays and Sundays till 5pm).

Exposition at the Dutch National Tree Museum Gimborn with "Spread your Wings"

Tomorrow, the exposition will finally open after the postponement of several months due to the Corona virus. The Dutch Ceramics Group NVK and the National Tree Museum Gimborn organize together for the 4th time a ceramic exposition in this beautiful tree garden of the museum from September 5 to October 25, 2020.
47 NVK-members show 70 pieces of work with the theme “Ode to Nature”.

It is a beautiful park and rich vegetation and especially now a good chance to be outdoors, enjoy nature and beautiful art!!!
